Colour Trends and Kitchen Styles For 2020

You’ll have to withstand the heat, because we have the hottest fitted kitchen trends of 2017 right here!

Quartz

The penchant for all things glossy, is losing it’s shine. As a manufacturer of bespoke kitchens, we are seeing a trend for industrial inspired, even brutalist kitchen designs, putting a spotlight on the beauty of simplicity.

Of course polished concrete floors and austere cabinetry is perhaps an extreme, but the trend for natural materials is introducing quartz as a kitchen work surface favourite, proving that dialling down the gloss does not necessarily mean dialling down the glamour.

Quartz surfaces have all the characteristics guaranteed to make it the next big thing. Aesthetically stunning, quartz is a cost effective, non porous, hygienic and scratch resistant surface. And did we tell you that it is stronger than marble?

Colour Wheels

As a kitchen designer company in London, we know better than to try and re-invent the colour wheel and traditional blacks and whites will always have a place in the heart of the home, but a splash of colour can be used to add a little of your personality.

Choosing a stand out colour for kitchens, need not require commitment. Think outside of the cabinetry, it could be a wall, bar stool or stand alone larder ( we shall talk more about that later)! And for 2017, your colour combination should reflect your personality. Spin the wheel and see how you feel. Confident, Composed or Comfortable? Choose dark blues, spicy reds or lime for confidence, earthy greens and taupes for the composed, pinks and blues for those feeling comfortable.

Insiders Tip!

Copper makes a splash back pop, use this rose hued metal to add accents to more traditional coloured kitchens.

Kitchenalia

How much kitchenalia do you have? The problem with kitchen essentials, is that they rarely communicate style. As experienced kitchen designers, we understand that imposing a minimalist mindset on a busy family home, is somewhat non-sensical. Yet we have the solution to limit the clutter.

Clear worktops are key for creating an illusion of space. Consequently, cabinetry is developing with a trend for deep drawers and larder style cupboards. A perfect hideaway for teabags, toasters and tongues…

Insiders Tip!

Further re-imagine cabinetry by opting for a handles off approach! Up the sleekness of the space with push to open mechanisms or moulded finger pulls.

And Finally!

Smartening up your kitchen does not start and end with the look. This year, smart technology is set to bring integrated blue tooth speaker technology and kettles which can be set to boil from you bed! Now that is what we call a smart kitchen.
